Every Saturday from May through October, we serve up hot farmhouse bagel sandwiches made with heritage Kunekune pork and farm-fresh eggs from our family farm. We start with authentic kettle-boiled bagels from 5 Borough Bagels and top them with sliced cheddar from Hinterland Dairy, then cook everything on-site at the Downtown Des Moines Farmers’ Market. Local ingredients, farm-fresh breakfast, made with care right at the market.

We source our bagels from 5 Borough Bagels in Urbandale, Iowa. They’re a local bakery passionate about traditional methods, like kettle-boiling bagels for that perfect chewy texture.

The sliced cheddar you’ll taste is crafted by Hinterland Dairy, bringing a rich, creamy flavor straight from their family farm to your sandwich.

Note: We prepare hundreds of bagel sandwiches each market and often sell out. Come early and taste what fully local really means!
