Our Beginning

From our family farm to your skin

Meadowlark Made began the way most meaningful things do—quietly, at home, with a need and a nudge from above.

When Heather first started rendering tallow on our small Iowa farm, it wasn’t for a business. It was an act of love for her grandson, whose skin needed something pure and honest. Sydney, with her background in holistic esthetics, saw what her mom was creating and knew there was something special happening: something both time-honored and timeless.

What began as a family remedy has grown into a prairie apothecary rooted in faith, tradition, and the simple belief that creation provides what we need.

Guided by Ancestral Wisdom

Mother/Daughter Co-Owners of Meadowlark Made Iowa

We lean on both ancestral wisdom and modern skin science to craft each product with intention and care. Our process blends old-world practices—like slow infusions, folk herbalism, and small-batch rendering—with modern formulation rooted in holistic esthetics.

We trust the rhythm of creation and the design behind it. Each herb, each oil, and each batch of tallow is handled with reverence, allowing nature’s design to do what it was made to do: nurture, restore, and protect.

Because real skincare doesn’t need to be reinvented, it simply needs to be respected.

At our veteran‑owned, family farm in Iowa, every morning begins with the animals, the land, and a quiet word of thanks. We raise heritage Kunekune pigs on open pasture, grow prairie herbs under wide skies, and live by the rhythm of seasons.

Here, caring for the animals and the acreage isn’t just a task, it’s a calling. Every choice we make, from pasture‑rotations to belly rubs and slow rendering, reflects our belief that creation deserves honor. The pork and tallow we harvest come from this work of stewardship.

Our goal is simple: to give you the confidence that your skincare and your pork both come from a place of integrity, care, and faith.

WHAT MAKES OUR TALLOW DIFFERENT

No mystery (or smelly!) tallow around here.

All of our nutrient-rich pork tallow comes directly from the heritage Kunekune pigs we raise on our veteran-owned farm. We never bleach or high-heat process it. Instead, we slow-render in small batches to preserve its natural nutrients and integrity, just the way it was always meant to be.

Pork tallow is one of nature’s finest moisturizers. It’s rich in bioavailable vitamins, supporting healthy skin regeneration and elasticity; and rich in essential fatty acids, which strengthen and protect the skin barrier.

Our Kunekune tallow is mild, clean, and deeply nourishing—no heavy texture, no harsh scent, just pure, creamy goodness from farm to jar.

Meet Heather & Syd

We’re a mother-daughter team who believe that faith, family, and hard work matter.

Heather is the maker—patiently slow-rendering tallow, infusing herbs, and tending each batch with care. Sydney blends her background in esthetics with a heart for helping others feel at home in their own skin. Together, we combine faith-led craftsmanship with thoughtful formulation, ensuring that every jar reflects the love, purpose, and intention it was made with.

We pray that through our work, others are reminded that simple, natural care can still be sacred.

Why Our Prices Stay Down to Earth

We believe skincare should be pure, purposeful, and accessible.

We believe natural care should be within reach for every family, not just a luxury for a few. As moms, we started Meadowlark Made to create skincare we’d trust for our own family: pure, gentle, and truly nourishing.

We use organic, high-quality ingredients and take time to slow render, infuse, and handcraft each batch, but we don’t believe in inflating prices just to make a bigger profit. Our goal is to keep natural skincare simple, honest, and accessible; because good care shouldn’t come with an exclusive price tag.

To us, that’s what integrity looks like — nourishing both skin and community with the same care and intention.

Our Vision & Mission: Faith in the Good

At Meadowlark Made, our mission is to offer skincare that nourishes both body and spirit. We handcraft small-batch, natural remedies inspired by the herbal wisdom of generations past — using ancestral ingredients, prairie plants, and pure, clean ingredients.

Guided by faith, tradition, and stewardship, we create each product with care for both people and the land. Our work honors the pace of nature, the gifts of creation, and the families we serve — bringing nourishment, restoration, and renewal with every jar.

We envision a world where handcrafted remedies whisper of simpler times, strong women, and a God who gives good gifts. Our vision is to help others slow down, return to simple things, and trust that the old ways still hold wisdom.

Meadowlark Made is our way of honoring that: through slow, seasonal skincare rooted in reverence and care.

This is more than skincare. It’s our family legacy in a jar.
