ABOUT MEADOWLARK MADE
Our Beginning
Our story began with family, faith, and a farm.
HOW IT STARTED
It started with one jar.
Meadowlark Made began the way most meaningful things do—quietly, at home, with a need and a nudge. When Heather first started rendering tallow on our small Iowa farm, it wasn’t for a business. It was an act of love for her family, whose skin need something pure and honest. Sydney, with her background in holistic esthetics, saw what her mom was creating and knew there was something special happening: something both time-honored and timeless.
What began as a family remedy has grown into a prairie apothecary rooted in faith, tradition, and the simple belief that creation provides what we need.
GUIDED BY ANCESTRAL WISDOM
We lean on both old-world practice and modern skin science.
Slow infusions, folk herbalism, small-batch rendering—paired with holistic esthetics and an understanding of how skin actually works. Real skincare doesn’t need to be reinvented. It needs to be respected.
OUR SMALL FAMILY FARM
The land behind every jar.
At our veteran-owned farm near Adair, Iowa, every morning begins with the animals, the land, and a quiet word of thanks. We raise heritage Kunekune pigs on open pasture, grow prairie herbs under wide skies, and live in the rhythm of the seasons.
Caring for animals and the acreage isn’t just a task. It’s a calling. The pork and tallow we harvest come from this work of stewardship.
SYDNEY MCKINLEY
Co-Owner, Brand & Marketing
When I was pregnant, nothing on the shelves felt right. I turned to my mom to make something using pure ingredients from our farm. That became MM.
HEATHER SCAR
Co-Owner & Production Lead
I slow render the tallow, infuse herbs, and handcraft each batch with prayer, patience, and gratitude. Making these products is my way of serving others.
“We come from a long line of hard-working and resourceful women. We’ve always dreamt that someday we would do something substantial on our family farm that would make our foremothers proud.”
OUR MISSION
