From our Iowa prairie farm to your skin, every jar is made by hand.
We’re Heather and Syd — a mother and daughter who believe the land holds everything we need to nourish and restore. What began as a simple search for something safe to use on our own family has grown into Meadowlark Made: a prairie apothecary where faith, heritage, and slow beauty meet.
Rooted on our small, veteran-owned family farm, we raise heritage pigs, tend the farm, and slow-render pure, nutrient-rich tallow in small batches. Every product we make is crafted with intention, prayer, and gratitude.

"As a mother and grandmother, my goal has always been simple: to care well for what God has given - our family, our animals, and the soil beneath our feet. My first priority was creating simple, natural products that I could trust for my family. It started with just a few handcrafted items I knew were safe and beneficial. Upon seeing the results on ourselves, and when friends and family started to ask for more jars, Meadowlark Made began to take shape. What began as a way to protect our family has grown into a business that allows us to share our passion for clean, natural skincare with other families.
I slow-render the tallow, infuse herbs, and handcraft each batch with prayer, patience, and gratitude. Making these products is my way of serving others, and every jar carries a little of the love I feel for our farm and the life God has entrusted to us. "When I was pregnant, nothing on the shelves felt right for my son. Everything was greenwashed or filled with ingredients I couldn’t trust. I turned to my mom and asked her to make a moisturizer using truly natural, pure ingredients from our farm. With a background in holistic esthetics, I love creating products that are both effective and rooted in nature. Once we saw the results on our own skin, Meadowlark Made began to take shape. Teaming up with my mom to create our apothecary felt like the perfect fit. Originally beginning as a personal journey for our family has now grown into something bigger.
I handle our creative side: design, formulation, & marketing. Even while living in Colorado, my heart is still on the prairie. You’ll find me often back at the farm helping with chores, labeling jars, and dreaming up what’s next for Meadowlark Made. Our Story
Our journey began in our farmhouse kitchen. When Syd asked for something clean and gentle for her son’s skin, Heather began rendering tallow from our pasture-raised pigs and blending it with organic herbs. Those first small batches worked better than anything we could buy, and soon, friends and neighbors were asking for jars of their own.
What started as family care became a calling.
Each season since, we’ve refined our craft, learning from the rhythms of nature, the wisdom of our foremothers, and the still, quiet voice that guides us through every decision. Meadowlark Made is more than skincare — it’s a reflection of the way we live and what we believe: that honest work, stewardship of the land, and faith-filled creativity still matter.
Today, our products are carried by multiple retail partners across the Midwest, and we’re always looking to welcome new wholesale partners who share our heart for bringing natural, pure products into their communities.
